Window Safety Restrictors
Window Safety Restrictors are essential for child safety - and a legal requirement for Irish Landlords
We supply and expertly fit various types of window safety restrictors
Ensuring your windows are childproof is essential for peace of mind, especially with little ones around. Installing window restrictors (safety catches) allows for controlled ventilation, allowing the window to open slightly while preventing it from opening too wide and causing a safety hazard.
The Irish Building Regulations 2014 Technical Guidance Document K states that “In dwellings where a window has an opening section through which a person may fall, and is more than 1400 mm above external ground level, suitable safety restrictors should be provided”. Following on from this, it is now a requirement for all landlords to have window safety restrictors fitted on windows above 1400mm in their properties. The building regulations state that all windows must be able to fully open in the event of an emergency - so we provide regulatory compliant window restrictors that can be detached without a lock.
